White tosses complete game; Ridge edges Southern

Southern's Domanick Michael registered 12 strikeouts while not allowing a walk in the loss.

MINERAL RIDGE, Ohio (WKBN) – Jake Rhodes drove in two runs in the fourth inning to give Mineral Ridge their first lead of the game which led to a 3-1 victory over Southern. Mac White tossed a complete game five-hitter which saw #13 strike out 9 batters on 128 total pitches.

Ridge’s offense was only able to muster three singles (White, Mike McLean, Rhodes).

Southern was led by Jordan Myers, who had two of the Indians’ five base hits. Domanick Michael had an RBI triple. Michael pitched 5 innings and struck out 12 batters while allowing one earned run.

Ridge (1-1) will play at Rootstown on Saturday. The Indians will travel to Sebring tomorrow.
