YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) –  Someone has fired more than a dozen shots at New Vision Ministries on Everett Avenue in Youngstown Thursday morning.

Youngstown Police Detective Doug Bobovnyik says they have issued an arrest warrant for the suspect, but could not release any other information.

The shooting happened just before noon. Police set up markers to show the locations of bullets.

The shooting interrupted a funeral for Marquise Shelton that was happening inside New Vision, according to a witness who was inside and talked to WKBN. That witness said that the sound of shots outside sent people in the church’s pews ducking for cover. The gun shots did not hit anyone, but ambulances took several people away from the scene.

“During the services, there was a disturbance out here on the front steps,” Bobovnyik said. “While the disturbances were happening, several shots were fired into a crowd of people.”
