YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Youngstown man accused of setting his girlfriend’s house on fire in November is facing additional charges.
Along with his previous charges of aggravated arson, kidnapping and attempted murder, Ronald Magby is also being charged with attempted aggravated murder, domestic violence and felonious assault.
Magby is accused of trying to kill his girlfriend by attempting to set their north side home on fire.
Police say he cut the gas lines to the house, setting himself on fire in the process. He suffered third degree burns from the incident, and was arrested by U.S. Marshals at an Akron burn unit in December after receiving treatment.
He is being held at Mahoning County Jail on a $50,000 bond, and is not to have any contact with the woman.
