HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) – A prom dress giveaway takes place in Hubbard on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The event is called Kyrsten’s Kloset. Anyone is welcome to go to the event, try on a dress, shoes, and accessories and take them home completely free.
The event is not income based, and anyone can get a dress.
The only condition is that those who pick up a dress sign the prom promise to not drink and drive.
Sarah Studer’s sister, Kyrsten, was hit and killed by a drunk driver while walking with her friends. The prom dress is in her memory.
Monday April 4 is the 13th anniversary of her death.
“We decided on a prom dress drive because Krysten was a girly girl. She never got to go to prom, and this is our way of making that happen for her,” Sarah Studer said.
The event is held at 110 Orchard Street in Hubbard.
