Cards and Collectibles closing after 34 years in Boardman

There are no plans to reopen the business

Cards and Collectibles in Boardman has closed.

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A 34-year-old Boardman business has closed its doors.

Cards and Collectibles is clearing out its space at the Huntington Woods Shopping Mall on Boardman Canfield Road. The store still has merchandise that it didn’t sell, which will be donated to Angels for Animals to sell at a garage sale at the Canfield Fairgrounds and for its Christmas sale.

“Cards, gifts, novelties, anything we had left. There’s probably about $40,000 worth of retail merchandise that they’re getting that they’re going to be able to sell and take that back and bring it back to the animals,” said Carl Welsch, an employee who has worked at the store for 28 years.

There are no plans to reopen the business.

Cards and Collectibles will continue supplying wedding and party invitations, however. That will be done at the RDW Homes Building on Seville Drive in Canfield.
