VIENNA, Ohio (WKBN) – Candywood Whitetail Ranch, the former Vienna golf course turned into a hunting preserve, has a website advertising its grand opening and prices.

Those visiting the preserve will be able to hunt whitetail deer, as well as sheep, boar, elk, red stag, bison and fallow deer, according to Candywood’s website.

Prices listed on the website range from $500 for boar, depending on size, up to $14,500 for a whitetail deer.

The hunting preserve was established by a collaboration of the Candella and Mullenax families, according to the website. The preserve received approval from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources last week. It was awaiting approval from the Department of Agriculture before officially opening.

Several people living in the area are opposed to the hunting preserve, and those people have protested the Vienna Township Trustees to stop the preserve from opening.

Trustees said, however, there is little they could do to stop the preserve from opening.
