Warren man sentenced in connection to woman’s fatal overdose

The woman's death came at a time when Trumbull County was experiencing record overdose deaths

Maurice Bryant was arrested in a TAG investigation.

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Maurice Bryant, 29, was sentenced Thursday in connection to a woman’s fatal overdose.

Bryant was sentenced to three years in prison on several charges including drug trafficking, corrupting another with drugs and involuntary manslaughter. He was also ordered to pay $4,657 in restitution and will be on community control for five years following his release from prison.

Investigators say Bryant sold a fatal dose of Fentanyl to 24-year-old Megan Fitzgerald.

Bryant pleaded guilty Jan. 29 to the charges.

Fitzgerald’s death came a time when Trumbull County was experiencing record overdose deaths.  From March 17 to April 20, 2015, a total of seven Trumbull County residents died of fentanyl related drug overdose.
