WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Maurice Bryant, 29, was sentenced Thursday in connection to a woman’s fatal overdose.
Bryant was sentenced to three years in prison on several charges including drug trafficking, corrupting another with drugs and involuntary manslaughter. He was also ordered to pay $4,657 in restitution and will be on community control for five years following his release from prison.
Investigators say Bryant sold a fatal dose of Fentanyl to 24-year-old Megan Fitzgerald.
Bryant pleaded guilty Jan. 29 to the charges.
Fitzgerald’s death came a time when Trumbull County was experiencing record overdose deaths. From March 17 to April 20, 2015, a total of seven Trumbull County residents died of fentanyl related drug overdose.
