Canfield Lacrosse Outduels Boardman

The Cardinals used a balanced attack to take down the Spartans, 10-7 Friday.

Boardman, OH (WKBN) – The Canfield boys lacrosse team defeated Boardman, 10-7 Friday at the Boardman Middle School.

The Cardinals (1-2) built an early lead and took a 4-2 lead into halftime. The Spartans struck first in the second half on a goal from Manah Shah, but the Cardinals then followed with an offensive flurry of their own.

Alex Petrallo led the way for Canfield with three goals, while Derek Urichich added 2. Matt Nielson, Robbie Stanko, Becket Richards, Jarod Donchess, and Andrew Bailing also scored a goal apiece. Gavin Kostelic had 18 saves for the Cardinals.

Manah Shah and Nick Beck each finished with two goals for Boardman. Nicholas Ouimet also recorded 25 saves in front of the net.

Boardman drops to 1-2 on the season and play at New Castle next Tuesday.
