COLUMBUS (WCMH)– A 50-year-old Columbus woman, who is a mother of five and grandmother of two, is finally fulling her dream of pursuing a career in country music.
After winning a singing competition in central Ohio, Tamela Knight decided to travel to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for the North America Country Music Association International.
She ended up winning the 2016 Female New Country Vocalist Of The Year and the Most Promising Female Entertainer Of The Year.
“Everybody has a passion, a gift that God has given them. I believe that I am being used by God to touch a certain amount of people right at this very moment,” she said.
Knight performed a small concert strictly for NBC4 viewers in Columbus Tuesday morning. She said that she is auditioning for the 2017 season of “The Voice.”
“You’re never too old. Life is short,” she said.
