EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN) – East Liverpool has determined ownership of a barge that struck and damaged an intake valve to the city’s water treatment plant.

Our print partners at The Morning Journal report the Crounse Corporation from the state of Kentucky owns the barge. The city is still evaluating the damage; the final estimate isn’t ready.

The city has surveillance video showing the pier being hit by the passing barge back in February. The intake valve takes water from the Ohio River and sends it to the water treatment system.
