EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN) – Lisbon Street has fallen eight feet in the past three weeks, and three East Liverpool homes continue to slip off their foundations, according to city Safety Service Director Brian Allen.
Allen said the city should have a preliminary report by Friday from a geologist who drilled for soil samples. It will likely include a design for some sort of retaining wall to withstand the type of soil there, he said.
That information will then be used to request funding from the Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio Public Works Commission and the Federal Highway Administration.
Lisbon Street remains open to local traffic only and is down to one lane while the homes in the area continue to buckle.
