Warren man accused of murdering woman requests new lawyers

Prosecutors say Lance Hundley tried to cover up the crimes by setting the victim's Cleveland Avenue house on fire

Murder suspect Lance Hundley tried to fire his lawyers Wednesday in court. The request was denied by a Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas judge.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A man accused of beating a woman to death and assaulting her mother in November is requesting new lawyers.

Prosecutors say Lance Hundley tried to cover up the crime by setting the victim’s Cleveland Avenue house on fire.

Hundley, who is facing the death penalty, wants to fire both of his attorneys because he says he doesn’t like their strategy.

He also claims one of them may have a conflict because of other cases she’s handled.

Hundley tried to fire his lawyers in December also, but the judge refused his request.
