YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley celebrated the success of its 2015 campaign on Thursday night.
The nonprofit organization held its annual meeting at The Lake Club in Poland. It recognized some of the top contributors and volunteers.
It also touted a big shift last year to the community impact model. The change means a focus on ways to enrich people’s lives directly.
“We’re starting to serve people in a more unified way and a more directed way. We started our Success after Six program and people just really gravitated toward it financially, vounteer-wise,” said United Way Marketing Director Roxann Sebest.
United Way also honored WKBN General Manager Dave Coy for his work as the 2015 campaign chair.
He led the effort to raise $2.9 million last year.
