Democrats in Columbiana County have a new leader

Nick Barborak said that he intends to focus more on party outreach and candidate development

Nick Barborak was elected the new Democratic party chairman in Columbiana County.

LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) – The newly-elected Columbiana County Democratic Party Central Committee elected Lisbon attorney former state representative Nick Barborak as chairman of the party.

Barborak said that he intends to focus more on party outreach and candidate development.

“We have an obligation to let the citizens know what we are all about and to field candidates for office that meet the high standards expected of public servants,” Barborak said during the central committee’s re-organizational meeting.

Barborak thanked outgoing Chairman Larry Bowersock for fulfilling the unexpired term of long-time Chairman Dennis Johnson, who passed away last summer.

Elections Board Chair, Patricia Colian was named Vice-Chair. Butler Township Fiscal Officer Jennifer Gamble was elected Treasurer, and Amanda Moore-McKenzie was chosen as Party Secretary.
