Liberty kids participate in community clean-up efforts

Volunteers picked up trash for the 21st annual Liberty Township Community Litter Clean-up

Kids pick up litter in Liberty Township.

LIBERTY, Ohio (WKBN) – Children in Liberty worked to clean up their community on Sunday by picking up litter.

They met for the 21st annual Liberty Township Community Litter Clean-up at the administration building, then hit the streets to pick up trash.

Township Trustee Jodi Stoyak says taking care of her community is something she’s very passionate about, and she hopes to pass that on to the next generation.

“I like to work with the kids in the schools…so they know what not to do in a community and hopefully someday when they move outside of Liberty Township, they can organize something like this in their community.”

That is what happened with one of her former employees, who organized a group of about ten adults to aide in the clean-up efforts over the weekend.
