LOWELLVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) – A Valley native with more than 20 years of coaching experience will lead the Rockets’ program starting this Fall.

Velasquez was previously the head coach for one season at Mineral Ridge in 2013, and led the Rams to a 5-5 record. He has also served as an assistant coach at Boardman, Beaver Local, Salem, Springfield, Struthers, and Ursuline.

He will take over for P.J. Mays, who resigned from the Rockets’ head coaching position just 3 months after accepting the job.
