Kenneally hurls a shutout; Ursuline tops Steubenville

Ursuline will play host to LaBrae on Thursday.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Jordyn Kenneally pitched a complete game, 2-hitter as Ursuline shut out Steubenville 2-0 this evening. Kenneally retired the first sixteen batters she faced as she finished the contest with 10 strikeouts and not a single walk.

The Lady Irish’s Adi Quattro scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. McKenzie Shells drove in Ursuline’s second run in the sixth with two outs. Gia Calderone and Nikki Malkovits each had a pair of base hits.

Ursuline (11-3) will face LaBrae at the Youngstown State softball complex on Thursday at 5 pm. Steubenville will visit Edison on Friday.

The softball post-season draw is scheduled for this Sunday (May 1).
