WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A tentative agreement has been reached with ArcelorMittal.
The company runs a steel plant in Warren and 14 other locations in the U.S.
Members of the United Steelworkers union were picketing at the Warren plant in August of 2015. Other protests were held at plants in Pittsburgh and Chicago over the last 10 months.
The new deal was reached Thursday and impacts nearly 14,000 workers.
In the coming weeks, the union will meet with workers and lay out the terms of the agreement. Votes for or against the contract will be mailed in.
