The three-day-event will take place again on May 26 and June 23 at Oakhill Place

An event at Oak Hill Place in Youngstown helps veterans find out if they're eligible for resources.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The first one-stop-shop for local veterans took place on Thursday at Oakhill Place in Youngstown.

The goal of the three-day event is to help veterans with finding jobs, social security information, food assistance, child care and health care, among other issues.

Robert Bush, the Director of Job and Family Services and a Marine Corps veteran, organized the event.

Bush says he wants to make sure veterans get the services they are qualified for.

“They have this belief that no, they’re not eligible, and we want to do what we can to make that determination.”

There will be two other events like this on May 26 and June 23 at Oakhill Place.
