Drug Take Back event to be held April 30 across the Valley

The drug take back events will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at several sites around the Valley.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Mahoning County agencies will be taking back unused prescription drugs on Saturday April 30.

Unused medicines are highly susceptible to misuse and abuse. Medicines also need to be disposed of properly to avoid harm to the environment.

The National Drug Take Back Event is sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration and area community partners.

The free, anonymous event will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Expired, unused and unwanted prescription medication and patches can be brought to the Mahoning County sites. No sharps, needles, liquids or medical wastes will be accepted.

The following sites will host drug take back events:

  • Austintown Police Department located at 92 Ohltown Road in Austintown.
  • Beaver Police Department located at 601 West South Range Road in North Lima.
  • Canfield Police Department located at 104 Lisbon Street in Canfield.
  • Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office located at 110 Fifth Avenue in Youngstown.
