Beany, Fitch grind out win over Struthers

The Falcons took advantage of 4 errors from the Wildcats to secure a 10-4 win Saturday.

Austintown, OH (WKBN) – The Austintown Fitch baseball team won a sloppy game over Struthers, 10-4 Saturday at Coppola Field.

Both teams had several fielding errors on the day that led to runs on both sides. Fitch starting pitcher Brian Beany got the win and went 5 IP with 5 H, 4 R, 6 K and 2 BB.

The Falcons hitting was led by Mike Grazier, who went 3-4 with 2 runs scored, while Chris Gerberry went 2-3 with 2 runs and an RBI. Jared Kapturasky also went 2-5 with a run and an RBI.

Jake Shaffer led Struthers with 2 hits and 3 RBI, while Jake Kreibel went 1-3 with two runs scored.

Fitch improves to 6-8 on the season.
