WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police are looking for a suspect who they say stole a woman’s purse at the Giant Eagle on Mahoning Avenue in Warren.

The victim described him as a thin biracial male with a brown goatee. She says he was wearing a hoodie and aviator sunglasses, and had tattoos on his neck.

An officer reported to the scene around 12 p.m. Sunday.

The victim said she was walking out of the store and began putting groceries in her car when the suspect approached her.

She told police he said his son was sick, but she responded by saying she wouldn’t give him any money.

A police report says the suspect then became agitated and began grabbing at her arm and purse, injuring the woman’s hand.

He reportedly took the purse and fled through the parking lot.

Officers watched surveillance video and were able to see the struggle, but could not identify the suspect.
