Cannon, Hickory pick up big win over Reynolds

The Hornets took control of their Region with a 5-4 win over Reynolds Tuesday.

Hermitage, PA (WKBN) – Hickory senior Tyler Cannon threw 9 strikeouts in a complete game effort to help the Hornets defeat Reynolds, 5-4 Tuesday at Hickory High School.

The Raiders took an early lead on a solo home run from Hunter Bresnan. The Hornets broke things open in the 4th inning with four runs to make it a 5-1 game.

Reynolds rallied late, including two runs in the 7th inning, but Cannon closed the deal from the hill. Nate Marchand led the Hornets with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, along with a run scored.

Hickory improves to 9-2 overall and 8-2 in District 10 Region 2, while Reynolds falls to 9-4 (6-3).
