YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Officers responded to a call Sunday morning and observed a gold Hyundai traveling southbound on Garland Avenue by East High Avenue at a high speed rate.

Officers said they activated their lights and sirens and attempted to stop the vehicle on Truesdale Avenue, when it increased speed, running through several red lights.

An officer stated that he observed others in the vehicle attempting to duck down in the front and back seats, before seeing them bail out of the car on S. Fruit Street.

According to the police report, the suspects, who were juveniles, were arrested after a short foot pursuit.

The police report notes that the driver, who was arrested on Fruit Street, was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and white baseball gloves, despite the weather being more than 40 degrees, so the gloves were logged into evidence.

The second suspect surrendered on Forest Avenue, and the third was found hiding in an open garage on Forest Avenue, according to the report.

The three juveniles were arrested and taken to the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center. They were charged with the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and fleeing and eluding.
