Alicia Anderson, charged with felonious assault in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Austintown Police arrested an intoxicated woman who they say punched an officer in the face Tuesday night.

Alicia Anderson, 33, of Austintown, faces an assault on a police officer charge.

Officers were dispatched to a home on Burkey Road around 9:45 p.m. in reference to a woman who was highly intoxicated and out of control.

When police arrived, they say Anderson was vomiting, throwing herself around the room and experiencing hallucinations.

After being taken out of the house to an ambulance, she started refusing medical treatment and asking for alcohol. Anderson then punched and attempted to bite an officer who was in the ambulance with her, according to a police report.

The officer and an EMT were able to restrain Anderson by handcuffing her to the gurney.

She later admitted to police that she did strike the officer in the face, according to the report.
