SEBRING, Ohio (WKBN) – A man is jailed on multiple charges after leading Sebring police officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle, according to a police report.
Police were called to the 200 block of E. Vermont Avenue after a woman reported that David Nixon took her vehicle and threatened to kill her and her son. Police said Nixon had a domestic violence warrant out of Portage County.
Officers tried to pull Nixon over during a traffic stop on N. 12th Street, but police said Nixon sped away, running through several stops signs in the process. After a short chase, officers stopped the vehicle Nixon was driving at the end of a wooded area near railroad tracks.
Police said Nixon then ran from the vehicle, stopping only when officers drew their weapons.
He was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, domestic violence, failure to comply with the signal of a police officer, driving under suspension and driving on the left side of the road.
