LONDON, Ohio (WKBN) – A Chicago man is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized more than 13 pounds of cocaine, worth approximately $600,000, following a traffic stop in Madison County.
Troopers stopped a 2016 Chrylser 200 on May 6 for following too closely on Interstate 70. A drug sniffing dog was called to the scene and alerted troopers to bundles of cocaine that were located inside the rented vehicle.
The driver, Carlos Baltazar, 35, of Chicago, Ill., was arrested and charged with possession and trafficking in cocaine, both first-degree felonies.
If convicted, Baltazar could face up to 20 years in prison and up to a $40,000 fine.
