Jackson-Milton punches ticket to District Finals

The Blue Jays advance to face Western Reserve Wednesday in the District Finals.

Struthers, OH (WKBN) – The Jackson-Milton baseball team defeated McDonald, 12-2 in 6 innings Tuesday in a Division IV District Semifinal at Cene Park.

The Blue Jays took an early lead with 4 runs in the first inning, and added at least a run in every frame to secure the run-rule victory. Scott Mitchell led Jackson-Milton with four hits, while Eric Ostrowski went 2-3 with 2 RBI, 2 walks and a run scored.

Ostrowski was also sharp from the bump, throwing 6 strikeouts, along with 7 hits and 2 runs in a complete game effort.

Jackson-Milton improves to 18-5 and advance to play Western Reserve Wednesday in the District Championship game at 6:30PM at Cene Park. McDonald finishes the season at 9-13 overall.
