Roads reopen in area where 8 people were fatally shot in Pike County

Much of Union Hill Road and Left Fork Road remained closed through the weekend, until late Monday evening

PIKE COUNTY, OH (WCMH/AP) — Nearly one month into the investigation, authorities have opened the roads where eight people were found shot and killed in rural Pike County.

On April 22, the bodies of seven members of the Rhoden family and Hannah Gilley were discovered.

Last week, NBC4 watched as investigators moved the mobile homes, where the bodies were found, to a secure location.

Much of Union Hill Road and Left Fork Road remained closed through the weekend, until late Monday evening.

Deputies continue to patrol the areas, as several neighbors have also posted “No Trespassing” signs on their property.

According to investigators, there is no new information on the search for a suspect or suspects.

The bodies of seven adults and a 16-year-old boy were found shot in the homes in the hills near Piketon, April 22.

The victims were 40-year-old Christopher Rhoden Sr.; his ex-wife, 37-year-old Dana Rhoden; their three children, 16-year-old Christopher Rhoden Jr., 19-year-old Hanna Rhoden and 20-year-old Clarence “Frankie” Rhoden; Christopher Rhoden Sr.’s brother, 44-year-old Kenneth Rhoden; their cousin, 38-year-old Gary Rhoden, and 20-year-old Hannah Gilley, whose 6-month old son with Frankie was unharmed.
