Semi rolls over on Route 422 in Southington

SOUTHINGTON, Ohio (WKBN) – A tractor-trailer accident on Route 422 in Southington Township tied up traffic Tuesday morning.

The driver of a 2007 Freightliner semi lost control, struck a ditch and tipped over about 7:20 a.m. on Route 422, near Route 282. The truck was carrying steel coils, which broke loose during the crash.

Route 422 was closed at Route 282 for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene.

The driver, 36-year-old Aaron Welch, from Jeromesville, suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene.

Welch was cited for failure to control.
