Police and neighbors find a missing toddler from Youngstown.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – An east side neighborhood was out in full force Wednesday afternoon after a toddler wandered from his home.

It happened just after noon in the 100 block of Ayers Street in Youngstown.

Neighbors said they looked for the missing toddler for about 30 minutes before they were joined by police.

They found the child safe another 30 minutes later, hiding near a fence two doors down from where he lives.

“Being police officers, we consider the worst first,” Patrolman Robert Martini said. “This is the greatest outcome you could have. The child is fine, he’s back at home with his parents.”

Officers said that this could not have been done without the help of the community, and that it’s what a community is supposed to do for each other.
