South Range wins third straight District Title

The Raiders advance to face the defending State-Champion Golden Flashes from Champion in the Division III Regional Semifinals Wednesday at Massillon Washington High School at 5PM.

NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The South Range Softball Team rolled to its fifth District Title in the past seven years, with an 11-1 win over Waterloo in five innings Thursday afternoon in the Division III District Finals at Springfield Local High School.  It’s also the third straight District Title for the Raiders.

Hope Thomas went 3-3 with a double, home run and  2 RBI’s for the Raiders.  Felicia Gaeta went 1-3 with an inside-the-park home run and 2 RBI’s in the win.

Pitcher Caragyn Yanek picked up the complete game victory tossing 5 innings allowing just one run on two hits, with four strikeouts.

South Range improves to 26-3 overall on the season.
