YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – One week away from the Memorial Day holiday weekend, you are paying a little more for gasoline.

The AAA average price for regular gas in the Youngstown-Warren metro area on Friday morning was $2.33 a gallon, up 4-and-a-half cents from Thursday. The average price a week ago was $2.17, but the numbers are still lower than a year ago when $2.59 was the norm.

The Gas Buddy website had a few stations in Youngstown and Liberty Township at $2.20 Friday morning, but $2.30 was a popular price. A few gas stations even jacked the price up to $2.50.
