WARREN, Ohio – Ernest A. DeSantis, 94, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at his residence from an extended illness.
He attended Warren City Schools and graduated from Warren G. Harding High School.
Mr. DeSantis was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Warren and a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in World War II.
Ernest worked at Packard Electric Division as a harness board electrician retiring in 1987 after 34 years.
Ernest was married September 23, 1950 to the former Mary A. Fedyszak-Fisher DeSantis who passed away June 1, 2005.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Tony, Fred, Henry, Albert, Joe, John, and Leonard, and two sisters Mrs. Mary Mayo and Ms. Eleanore DeSantis. Ernest is the last survivor of this family.
Ernest is survived by four nieces and seven nephews.
The Family would like to thank Hospice for their unending support and service during Ermest’s illness and his special caretakers, Melany, Renee, Lisa, Kim and Jessie for all their support and comfort.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Warren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Church with Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
The Family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Ernest’s name to St. Mary’s Church 232 Senecca St. NE, Warren, Ohio 44481 or Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St. Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
