YPD: Juvenile fight ends with shots fired, 1 sent to hospital

Youngstown Police say shots were fired around 10 p.m. Tuesday on E. Boston Avenue

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown Police are investigating a shooting that occurred after a large fight broke out Tuesday night.

According to a police report, shots were fired around 10 p.m. on E. Boston Avenue.

Witnesses said a large fight broke out between juveniles before the shooting started. They told police another fight broke out earlier in the day and started up again Tuesday night.

One man was injured after a stray bullet hit his wrist. He said he was breaking up the fight and someone in the crowd started shooting.

The victim was unable to identify the shooter or the getaway vehicle.

Officers found 16 shell casings in the area and blood on the sidewalk and a driveway, according to the report.

The homeowner whose driveway reportedly had blood on it said he didn’t see what happened, but heard gunshots and saw people running.
