MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) – The mother of two boys who were found seriously beaten at a southwest Ohio motel before one of them died has been charged with murder, child endangering and kidnapping, along with another woman.
The Hamilton-Middletown Journal-News reports that a Butler County grand jury indicted the mother, 26-year-old Theresa Hawkins-Stephens, and 29-year-old Rachel Bostian on the same charges. A third woman, 56-year-old Ramona Bostian, is charged with one count of obstructing justice.
Attorney information for them was unavailable.
Five-year-old Alexander Stephens, of Licking County, died April 29 after authorities responding to a call found him and his badly injured 6-year-old brother at a Middletown motel. Authorities say the boys were beaten by their mother and her friend while staying in a tent near the Great Miami River.
