Youngstown man charged with shooting at Boardman home

Police said Gibson fired a gun into a Boardman home after coming there to get money owed to him

Edward Gibson, charged with shooting a gun into a Boardman garage.

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Youngstown man has been charged with shooting into a Boardman home on E. Western Reserve Road.

Edward Gibson, 18, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with discharging a weapon into a habitation, discharging a weapon into a prohibited location, having weapons while under disability, improper handling for a firearm in a motor vehicle and aggravated menacing.

Gibson was accused of firing a gun into the home after coming there to get money from a man who lived there on Tuesday. A woman told police that Gibson threatened to “get my gun and my boys” when she told him that his friend was not home but that he would have the money when he returned home.

The woman told police Gibson left, but she later heard two gunshots and saw him driving away from her home in a silver Chevrolet Cobalt.

Police said a bullet had struck the garage of the home.

Gibson was arrested at a Youngstown home the following day.
