CINCINNATI (AP) – Cincinnati police have arrested and charged a 51-year-old man with murder in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend.

Authorities announced Thomas Walker’s arrest in a news release Saturday. Police said Walker had walked into a police station days earlier and said he was responsible for the slaying of 41-year-old Necole Jones.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that police said in court records that Walker and Jones got into a fight on May 28 and shot at each other. Police said Walker was shot in the left leg, and Jones died after being shot in the head.

Court records did not yet list an attorney for Walker, who is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
