SEBRING, Ohio (WKBN) – A Sebring man is jailed after police said he was found with drugs and chemicals commonly used to make methamphetamine.

Sebring Police searched a home in the 600 block of W. Tennessee Avenue around 8 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report that Adam Tyson had been buying large amounts of pseudoephedrine. The drug, commonly found in cold medicine, is used to make meth.

Police said Tyson has a criminal history with the drug.

A search of his home and car found a glass smoking pipe, lithium batteries, cold compress packs and several other items used to make the drug, according to a Sebring Police report. Police said Tyson tried running down an alleyway near his home, but slipped and fell and was quickly apprehended.

Tyson admitted to using meth and said he bought the supplies so that a friend could make the drug for him, the report said.

Police said two children are living in the home, so the case was also referred to Children Services.

Tyson was charged with possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs and aggravated possession of drugs schedule II, both felony charges. He is at Mahoning County Jail, awaiting a court appearance at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas.
