Warren, OH (WKBN) – After several weeks of anticipation, Warren G. Harding High School hosted its Youth Football Camp in conjunction with the University of Michigan on Thursday.
Some big names were present, including University of Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh, who is hosting satellite camps across the country this summer. Valley native Mike Zordich was also in attendance.
Around 400 kids from across the area and state, in grades 10 through 12, competed on Wednesday.
The Raiders have plenty of ties to the Wolverine over the years, making this one of Harbaugh’s favorite stops this off-season.
“When I coached with the 49ers, we practiced in Youngstown twice,” said Harbaugh. “We spent the week here in preparation for East Coast games. The school and Steve Arnold brought the football team out to practice each year that we were here. When we were able to set this camp up, this was one of the ones I was most excited about.”
