YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The City of Youngstown’s Board of Control approved contracts Thursday morning to repave dozens of miles of roadway.
Engineers say they will work on close to 60 different streets starting later this month.
Unlike previous years, officials say they were able to find millions in additional funding sources in Washington and Columbus to handle more roads.
“Just for our local streets only. We’ll be doing about $1.3 million in resurfacing this year,” said Director Chuck Shasho. “We have several other projects that equate to about…$13 million in roadway work this summer and into ’17.”
The summer paving work in the city should be completed by the middle of September.
