Rex Putnam, charged with felonious assault with a deadly weapon for hitting a woman with his car in Warren

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A wanted fugitive was arrested on Thursday on charges that he intentionally struck a woman with his car.

The U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force said a tip from the community led to Rex Putnam’s arrest.

He is charged with felonious assault with a deadly weapon for an incident on May 15.

A woman told police that she and Putnam were arguing in his car when he stopped at the intersection of North Street SW and Vernon Avenue in Warren. She said Putnam made her get out of the car and then struck her with the vehicle at a high rate of speed.

A witness told police he saw the front and back wheels of the car roll over the woman. She was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital for her injuries.
