Child hit by SUV in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WKBN) – A 7-year-old was injured after being hit by an SUV Friday afternoon in New Castle.

The girl and her sister were riding their bikes down a hill on Laurel Place around 3:30 p.m. when they passed through a stop sign.

The SUV was traveling on Hawthorne Street and hit the girl.

She was taken to UPMC Jameson. No word yet on her injuries.

Her sister was not injured.

Police have not said if any charges will be filed against the driver of the SUV.
