Lee Frey and Thomas Shipka were sworn in to the Mill Creek Park Board.

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – The two newest Mill Creek Park Commissioners were sworn in on Friday afternoon.

Lee Frey and Thomas Shipka took their oaths from Probate Judge Robert Rusu.

Rusu selected the two men after a selection committee recommended five candidates for the position.

Both men say they want to work with the public to improve the park.

“Being more transparent, opening up the information, setting goals for the park, responding to public concerns for the park,” Frey said.

“We have lost a lot of public support recently and we have to work to restore that,” Shipka said.

The next Mill Creek Park Board Meeting is Monday, June 13.
