Uribe and Trout exit game early, Indians beat Angels 8-3

ANAHEIM, Calif (WKBN) – Francisco Lindor started the game off on a fast note with a solo blast to left center in the first and then in the second inning, he hit a two run single to right to score Michael Martinez and Rajai Davis.

Carlos Santana also joined the hit parade hitting two home runs and driving in three more as the Indians took the series against the Los Angeles Angels 8-3 on Sunday afternoon.

Danny Salazar (7-3) went 5 2/3 innings and gave up three hits with eight strike outs.

In the fourth inning Indians third baseman Juan Uribe left the game on a cart with a testicular contusion after getting hit by grounder off Angeles’ Mike Trout. Trout would also leave the game later in the eighth with a bruised right thumb after getting hit by a pitch from reliever Tommy Hunter.

The Indians (35-27) have won nine of twelve in the month of June and continue to hold a three game lead at the top of the American League Central. The first place Indians will travel to Kansas City to take on the Royals (32-30) Monday night in the final leg of a 10-game road trip.
