BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Boardman Center Middle School, soon to be Boardman Center Intermediate, is wrapping up its Extreme Makeover Week on Friday after months of planning, preparation and fundraising.
Dozens of volunteers worked three-hour shifts every day in the morning, afternoon and evening for the past week.
Each room and hallway was repainted and updated, and it didn’t cost taxpayers anything. It all came from donations and fundraising support.
The school will house all fifth and sixth grade students this fall, while Glenwood Middle will house seventh and eighth grade.
“We have worked with Sherwin Williams, area architects, an interior designer and other local businesses to organize this amazing makeover event,” Principal Randy Ebie said. “The purpose is to give BCMS a fresh, new look to go along with a culture of kindness, compassion and acceptance, in addition to celebrating the diversity of this wonderful community. We have been overwhelmed by the support and volunteers who’ve offered help.”
