COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio (WKBN) – An OVI checkpoint is scheduled Friday, June 24 on State Route 45 in Columbiana County.
Ohio State Highway Patrol says the checkpoint will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. near mile marker 23.
Officers with Highway Patrol, the Salem Police Department and the Perry Twp. Police Department will be out stopping vehicles. The purpose of the checkpoint is to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
Saturation patrols will also be out making traffic stops throughout the county.
The checkpoint and extra patrols are funded by a federal grant.
