Plane crashes in Detroit neighborhood

The pilot was pulling a banner overa crowd of people gathered for fireworks

A plane crashed in a residential neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan.

DETROIT, Mich. (WKBN) – A pilot and a person on the ground are recovering from injuries sustained when a plane crashed on residential street in Detroit.

The crash happened Monday night.

A spokesperson for the Detroit Police Department said the plane was running out of fuel and hit a live power line on its way down.

The line fell and hit someone standing nearby. That person went to the hospital in serious condition.

The pilot also suffered injuries in the crash.

The plane was reportedly pulling banners over crowds gathered for a fireworks display over the Detroit River.
