Warren’s Anita Brown to play professionally overseas

Brown graduated from Akron as the Zips sixth all-time leading scorer with 1,568 points.

Akron standout and Warren Harding product Anita Brown will play professionally for the Neftochimic 2010 club of the top Bulgarian women's league.

AKRON, Ohio (WKBN) – Akron standout and Warren Harding product Anita Brown will play professionally for the Neftochimic 2010 club of the top Bulgarian women’s league.

Brown was named First Team All-MAC last season, after leading the conference in scoring with 21.9 points per game. She also led Akron in rebounding with 7.5 per contest. Brown graduated from Akron with 1,568 points…good for sixth place all-time.

She is a member of the winningest class in Akron Women’s Basketball history with 85 wins.

The former Warren Harding Raider earned All-MAC second team honors as a junior. She started all 32 games for Akron this past season, and scored in double figures in every contest.

Brown was a member of the WKBN Starting-5 in 2012.  That year she averaged over 26 points and 13 rebounds per game.  She is the only girls’ player at Warren Harding to rack up over 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.
