OVI checkpoints scheduled in Mahoning County July 8-10

OVI Checkpoint, DUI

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Two OVI checkpoints are scheduled on the weekend of July 8-10, according to the Mahoning County OVI Task Force.

The checkpoints will be held in conjunction with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Details will be released later next week.

There will also be local saturation patrols throughout Mahoning County during the week and weekend

The Task Force said the goal is to discourage drinking and driving and make the roadways safer.

Support in operating the checkpoints and extra patrols will be provided by Highway Patrol, the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Mahoning County Emergency Management Agency.
